Campervan Melbourne Airport
Melbourne's airport has been named Australia's best international airport according to an independent survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI). The survey placed Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport at No. 3 overall out of 24 airports surveyed across the globe. It beat out London Heathrow Airport, which came in second place, while Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport ranked third.
The ACI survey rated airports based on four criteria: customer service, security procedures, facilities and infrastructure, and staff training. Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport scored highly in each category, scoring above average in customer service, security, facilities and infrastructure, and staff training. In addition, the airport scored highly in terms of its infrastructure, including its terminal building, check-in area, baggage claim areas, car parks, restaurants, shops, cafes, bars, lounges, toilets, and other amenities.
The survey found that the majority of passengers were satisfied with the level of services provided by the airport. More than half of respondents said they had no complaints regarding customer service, and almost three quarters felt safe when travelling through the airport. Almost two thirds said they were happy with the quality of food served at the airport restaurant, and nearly 80 percent were pleased with the range of retail options available. A total of 77 percent of passengers agreed that the airport staff were friendly and helpful, and 85 percent said they were impressed with the cleanliness of the airport.
The survey also revealed that travellers who used the airport regularly were generally satisfied with the way things worked there.
