The first thing you need to do before renting a motorbike in Porto Portugal is to make sure that you have the right documents with you. If you don't have any proof of identity, you won't be allowed to ride a bike. In addition, you should check that you have a valid driving license. The best way to get hold of these documents is to visit one of the many banks around town. They usually offer free photocopying services and they can provide you with copies of your passport, birth certificate and driving license.
After you have obtained the necessary documentation, you will need to decide where you would like to go riding. There are two main areas:
-Porto Car Hire: This area is located in the north of the city and offers some of the cheapest rates. It is easy to find and very close to the centre.
-Rent A Car: This option is situated in the south of the city and offers slightly higher prices than those offered at Porto Car hire. However, it is much closer to the beach and therefore makes it easier to explore the surrounding area.
You can either book your rental car through the websites above, or you can contact them directly. Either way, you will need to pay a deposit to secure your reservation.
