The first bike manufactured by the company was called 'Enfield No 1' and was released in 1901. The model was designed by William Saxon and Henry Royce. It had a single cylinder engine and weighed around 120 kgs. The next year, 1902, another version of the same bike was introduced, named 'No 2'. The No 2 was very similar to the No 1 except for its weight being reduced to 70kgs.
In 1907, the company launched the third generation of the No 1 and No 2 models. These were known as the 'High Wheelers', and featured two wheels on each side of the frame. They could reach speeds of 60 kmph. A few years later, in 1913, the fourth generation of the High Wheeler was introduced. This one had three wheels on each side of the frame. It could go upto 80kmph.
During World War I, the British government banned the production of motorbikes due to fears of them being used against soldiers during battles. However, the ban was lifted after the war ended. In 1920, the fifth generation of the High Wheeler was introduced. It was called the 'Nighthawk'.
