Campervan Auckland Airport
The following information has been provided to assist travellers planning to travel from Auckland International Airport to the city centre via campervan rental services. Please note that these details should not be used as an alternative to advice from local authorities.
If you're travelling from Auckland International Airport to central Auckland via campervan hire, then there's no need to worry. The airport is located just 8km away from the city centre, making it easy to get around. If you don't fancy driving yourself, you'll find plenty of options at the airport itself. There are several car hire companies operating out of the terminal building, including Hertz, Avis and Budget. Alternatively, if you prefer to drive yourself, there are many parking lots close to the airport where you can park your campervan for free. It's worth noting that some of these lots require payment, but most offer free parking.
Once you arrive at the airport, you'll probably want to head straight to the baggage claim area. This is where you'll find the luggage collection point, and where you can leave your bags before heading into the arrivals hall. After leaving your bags, you'll need to follow signs to the taxi rank. From here, you can take a cab to wherever you need to go in the city. Or alternatively, you can walk through the arrivals hall and catch a bus towards the city centre.
When arriving at the city centre, you'll see that it's divided into two parts. One part is known as Queen Street, while the other is called Ponsonby Road.
