Campervan Hire Christchurch Airport
The best way to get around Christchurch is by car. If you're planning on staying at the airport then there's no point in hiring a campervan. There are plenty of options for getting from the airport into town though. The easiest option is to take the shuttle bus service provided by Air New Zealand. This runs every 15 minutes between 6am and 11pm, Monday through Friday, and 7am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday. It costs $15 per person, but if you book ahead of time you'll save money. Alternatively, you can rent a taxi for approximately $50 each way. Taxis operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and they can take you anywhere within the city limits. They don't run out of taxis during peak times, so just ask them where you should wait.
If you decide to drive yourself, remember that the roads aren't great. Driving conditions are generally bad due to heavy rain, poor visibility and potholes. Make sure you bring along an umbrella, and try not to leave anything valuable inside your vehicle. Also, don't forget to check your tyres before heading out!
